Nature Conservation seeks sponsor for annual nature event

Nature Conservation Margaret River Region is seeking a business sponsor for its annual nature event, the Margaret River Bioblitz. This fun, interactive event conducted in spring each year, aims to raise community awareness, understanding and engagement in protecting the biodiversity of the Margaret River region.

The Margaret River Bioblitz is part of Nature Conservation’s ‘People for Nature’ calendar of events which focus on inspiring the Margaret River community to value, respect and care for the natural environment. Through a two part program – a Community Bioblitz Day open to interested individuals and families and a Schools Bioblitz Day catering for Year 3 students at 8 primary schools, the Margaret River Bioblitz provides an opportunity for the community to learn about the flora and fauna inhabiting bushland, foreshores and waterways close to where they live.

The Bioblitz Program includes scientists, local environmental experts and environmental educators leading a range of interpretive activities including wildflower walks, aquatic fauna activities, bird watching surveys, interactive fauna displays, indigenous cultural experiences and nocturnal possum night stalks and culminates in a biodiversity catch up and sausage sizzle allowing interaction with nature specialists.

The Margaret River Bioblitz provides an excellent opportunity for a business sponsor to be associated with a local event run in the heart of Margaret River and catering for the Margaret River community. The sponsor will be recognised in all promotional materials associated with the event and through their support is able to assist to connect the community to nature and foster environmental stewardship within our community.

If your business is interested in getting involved with this exciting event please contact Caroline Hughes, Executive Officer, Nature Conservation Margaret River Region on 9757 2202 (Tues – Thurs) or [email protected].
