Environment Excellence Award goes to Fair Harvest Permaculture

At a gala dinner on 29 August attended by the who’s who of the Margaret River business community, Nature Conservation Chair, Dr Boyd Wykes presented the Environment Excellence Award in the 2018 Telstra Margaret River Business Awards recognising the environmental champions in the business community.

Of the 34 finalists in the evening’s awards, six businesses were recognised for excelling in their efforts to protect the environment. These included Blackwood River Houseboats, Chestnut Brae, Fair Harvest Permaculture, Miki’s Open Kitchen, Ocean Grown Abalone and Wine for Dudes.

Fair Harvest Permaculture took out the Nature Conservation sponsored Environment Excellence Award with the judging panel describing Jodie Lane and partner Dorothy Perez of Fair Harvest as “inspirational earth mothers who personify the ethos and passion of why people live in Margaret River.” Two further businesses, Blackwood River Houseboats and Miki’s Open Kitchen, were highly commended as Environmental Champions in our business community.
