Calling on volunteers to assist Nature Conservation's campaign to control arum lily

Nature Conservation has recently secured a three year State NRM Community Stewardship Grant to deliver a campaign to control arum lily in the Margaret River region in partnership with landholders, Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, Shire of Augusta-Margaret River, City of Busselton, Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association and Yallingup Land Conservation District Committee.

The project takes on the considerable challenge of shifting community attitudes and behaviour regarding arum lily control and aims to result in a significant reduction in the extent of arum lily across the region.

Activities will include a communication campaign, arum lily surveying and mapping, an annual control program and monitoring of control.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with running the campaign. Jobs may include communication activities, administrative support, data entry, surveying and mapping, and photo monitoring.

Please contact Genevieve Hanran-Smith on 97 57 2202 or [email protected] for more information and to get involved.
