50th Anniversary Wine Label Art Exhibition supports Nature Conservation

Nature Conservation’s Chair, Dr Boyd Wykes and his wife Karen Majer attended the opening night of the Margaret River Wine Association’s 50th Anniversary Wine Label Art Exhibition held on Saturday 14 October at Cape Mentelle.

The evening included the announcement of a winning art piece for the label of an Anniversary Cabernet celebrating 50 years of wine making in the Margaret River region. As Margaret River Wine Association’s ‘Charity of Choice’, proceeds from the auction of this piece will support Nature Conservation’s work.

Newly appointed MRWA President Barry House announced the winner of a very attractive prize package to Mary-Lynne Stratton for a work entitled ‘Dams and Reflections’. Boyd was honoured to present the prize to Mary-Lynne.

All of the 15 wonderful works are on exhibition for a fortnight at Cape Mentelle, and many are still available for purchase. Mary-Lynne’s painting will be auctioned at a Grand Cabernet dinner on 18 November at Eight Willows Treat, together with the limited edition regional cabernet.
