Celebrating biodiversity month with the Chamber of Commerce

Nature Conservation Margaret River Region teamed up with the Margaret River Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the second annual environment celebration with Chamber Members on Wednesday 20 September. The evening was a huge success with over 100 business representatives demonstrating that the protection of our local environment matters to our business community.

This year the event was hosted by the Margaret River Distilling Company and celebrated biodiversity month including an interpretive nature walk before complimentary drinks, nibbles and speeches. Highlights of the evening included Ocean Grown Abalone Ltd providing delicious tasters and and update on their world first environmental achievements, and additional inspiring guest speakers, the Beer Farm – winners of the MRRBA’s Environmental Excellence Award, and Witchcliffe Ecovillage – another incredible world first!

A big thank you to Passel Estate for donating the wine for the event and all those who bought tickets in the member raffle supporting Western Ringtail Possum Conservation. The raffle raised a huge $245 to help the endangered species.

A wonderful representation of the diversity of environmental leadership within our passionate business community.
